...the gaseous, liquid, and solid on our developed planet always reproduce themselves, from eternity in our cosmic sphere. Just as geology provides the proof that all organic matter originally arose through a creative act of organic germs from the inorganic and still arises everywhere today where the organic does not yet exist, so cosmology provides the proof that all cosmic matter originally emerged through a creative act of cosmic atoms from infinitely dilated space and still emerges today wherever no living, reacting suns exist in space, where the luminous celestial bodies have been extinguished, solidified, petrified, and have died.
Regarding the facts of cosmology, I can here only refer to works that I published in the years 1857 and 1858 in the “Jahrhundert” [“Century”], which appeared in Hamburg, and in the journal “Natur” [“Nature”], edited by Otto Ule in Halle.
In the universal law of the “Conservation of Force,” in the correctly understood law of gravitation, whose identity with that only recently discovered universal law I have demonstrated, science finds the confirmation of the Jewish idea of the unity and uniqueness of the creative being. In the physical and physiological, i.e., in the cosmic and organic world, this law unlocks all physical, chemical, and vital phenomena, — in the spiritual, i.e., social world, all historical and human phenomena, — the latter, of course, only completely when the development of the social sphere of life will be completed. — An exact science of the social sphere of life does not yet exist — science to this day has only nature, the cosmic and organic sphere of life as its subject, — because the very object of social science,

Wie die Geologie den Beweis liefert, daß die allgemeine organische Matene ursprünglich durch einen Schöpfungsakt organischer Keime aus dem Anorganischen ent- standen ist und noch heute überall entsteht, wo eben das Orga- nische noch nicht existirt, ſo liefert die Koſmologie den Beweis, daß die allgemeine koſmische Matene ursprünglich durch einen Schöpfungsakt koſmischer Atome aus dem unendlich dilatirten Weltraume hervorgegangen ist und noch heute hervorgeht überall wo keine lebendig reagirenden Sonnen im Weltraume existiren, wo die leuchtenden Weltkörper erloschen, erstarrt, versteinert und abgestorben ſind. Ich kann mich in Betreff der Thatſachen der Koſmologie hier nur auf Arbeiten berufen, die ich in den Jahren 1857 und 1858 in dem in Hamburg erschienenen „Jahrhundert“ und in der von Otto Ule in Halle herausgegebenen Zeitschnft „Natur“ veröffentlich habe. In dem Weltgeſetze der „Erhaltung der Kraft“, in dem nchtig aufgefaßten Gravitationsgeſetze, deſſen Identität mit jenem erst kürzlich entdeckten Weltgeſetze ich nachgewieſen habe, findet die Wiſſenschaft die Bestätigung der jüdischen Idee von der Ein- heit und Einzigkeit des schöpfenschen Weſens. In der phyſikali- schen und phyſiologischen, d. h. in der koſmischen und organischen Welt, erschließt dieſes Geſetz alle phyſischen, chemischen und vi- talen, — in der geistigen, d. h. ſozialen Welt, alle geschichtlichen und humanen Phänomene, — die Letztem freilich erst dann vollständig, wann die Entwicklung der ſozialen Lebenssphäre vollendet ſein wird. — Eine exacte Wiſſenschaft der ſozialen Lebenssphäre existirt noch nicht — die Wiſſenschaft hat bis heute nur die Natur, die koſmische und organische Lebenssphäre zum Gegenstande, — weil eben das Objekt der ſozialen Wiſſenschaft,
