The Jews, therefore, did not come to us as conquerors with the sword. They were — "interned" by the Romans as political prisoners in the Occidental world, and indeed in such a way that they had the freedom to choose their place of settlement, and in the cities their residences were under a certain control, in the so-called "Ghettos" (Jewish quarters). Nothing is more natural than that the Jews had to hate their subjugators and those who led them away from their homeland. Nothing more natural than that this hatred had to swell through nearly two millennia of oppression and persecution in the Occident. Nothing more natural than that the Jews in exile and indirect captivity in the Occident became even more hateful than they had been in the Orient. Nothing more natural than that they, with their innate talent for cunning and trickery, formed a state within a state, a society within society, as "prisoners". The Jewish particularist state continued the war in the Occident with cunning, which it had waged with exterminating weapons against the peoples in the Orient where it was the stronger party. This was simply a natural right of the Jews. One cannot expect mildness instead of defiance from the oppressed, and least of all sincerity from a people whose law does not consist in holding out the right "cheek" when the left one is struck. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth," says Jehovahism. If the law of war of severity against such a people, after one had once committed the great political mistake of forcing it violently into Occidental society, was justified, then the tenacious resistance of the Jews was likewise their natural right and the astonishing tenacity and

# 2. Die Juden sind also nicht als Eroberer mit dem Schwerte zu uns gekommen. Sie wurden von den Römem als politische Gefangene in die abendländische Welt hinein — «intemirt» und zwar derartig, daß sie die Freiheit der Wahl der Niederlaſſung hatten und in den Städten ihre Sitze unter einer Controle standen, in den s. g. «Ghettos» (Judenvierteln). Nichts ist natürlicher, als daß die Juden ihre Unter- jocher und Wegführer aus der Heimath haſſen mußten. Nichts natürlicher, als daß dieser Hass durch einen beinahe zwei Jahrtausende langen Druck und Verfolgung im Abend- lande anschwellen mußte. Nichts natürlicher, als daß die Juden in der Verbannung und indirekten Gefangenschaft im Abendlände noch gehässiger wurden als sie es im Onent waren. Nichts natürlicher, als daß sie mit dem ihnen an- geborenen Talent der Schlauheit und Ueberlistung, als «ge- fangen» einen Staat im Staate, eine Geſellschaft in der Ge- ſellschaft bildeten. Der jüdische Partikularstaat ſetzte im Abendlände den Kneg mit List fort, den er mit aus- rottenden Waffen im Morgenlande gegen die Völker geführt hatte, wo er der Stärkere war. Es war dies einfach ein natürliches Recht der Juden. Man kann von dem Unterdrückten nicht Milde statt Trotz erwarten und am wenigsten Aufnchtigkeit von einem Volke, deſſen Geſetz nicht im Einhalten der rechten «Backe» besteht, wenn man die linke schlägt. «Auge um Auge, Zahn um Zahn», ſagt der Jehovahniſmus. War das Knegsrecht der Strenge gegen ein ſolches Volk, nachdem man einmal den groſſen politischen Fehler begangen hatte, es in die abendländische Geſellschaft gewaltſam hinein zu zwingen, berechtigt, ſo war der zähe Widerstand der Juden ebenfalls ihr natürliches Recht und die staunenswerte Zähigkeit und
