every geographical longitude and latitude in all epochs of the world-historical era. Two pieces of evidence of the most unobjectionable kind for the racial identity of today's Jews with the Jewish people of antiquity are: First, the anthropological condition of the Kohanim, and second, that of the Samaritans. The Kohanim, the priestly lineage of the Jews, have always formed a closed caste within Judaism, insofar as marriages with non-Jews, even with those who have converted to Judaism, are strictly forbidden for them; with them, therefore, there can hardly be any talk of racial mixing, the same applies to the Samaritans, who represent the remnants of the people of Israel and have married only among themselves for millennia, thus undoubtedly having preserved the ancient Jewish original type purely. Both groups, however, do not differ anthropologically in any way from the great mass of the other Jews; and from this we can draw the justified conclusion of the unmixedness of the present-day Jewish race. In history, too, we find no evidence for any mixing of foreign-blooded elements with Jews having taken place; at least not to such a great extent that it could have had an influence on the formation of a people of 7-10 million. The Jews were always isolated by their exclusive faith, by the power of traditional feelings, — later also by the common misery and the bars of the Ghetto. And all the temporary affiliations to Judaism (Khazars, etc.) are soon lost to it again. The fact that the percentage ratio of the Kohanim and Levites to the rest of the Jewish people is the same today as it was 2000 years ago proves sufficiently that larger affiliations of racially foreign elements to Judaism cannot have occurred, because otherwise these percentage ratios would have had to shift. From all that has been said, we conclude the uniformity of the Jewish race as well as the racial identity of today's Jews with those of antiquity, thus their racial purity! What significance this 24

jeder geographischen Länge und Breite in allen Epochen der weltgeschichtlichen Aera auf. Zwei Beweisdokumente einwandfreiester Art für die Rassenidentität der heutigen Juden mit dem Judenvolk des Altertums sind: Erstens das anthropologische Verhalten der Kohanim, und zweitens das der Samantaner. Die Kohanim, das Pnestergeschlecht der Juden, bildeten stets insofem eine abgeschlossene Kaste im Judentum, als für sie Ehen mit Nichtjuden, auch mit zum Judentum über- getretenen, strengstens verboten sind; bei diesen kann also von Rassenmischung kaum die Rede sein, das gleiche gilt von den Samantanem, die die Ueberreste des Volkes Israel darstellen und seit Jahrtausenden nur unter einander hei- raten, also den altjüdischen Urtypus zweifellos rein bewahrt haben. Beide Gruppen aber unterscheiden sich anthropologisch durch nichts von der großen Masse der übngen Juden; und daraus können wir den berechtigten Schluß auf die Un- vermischtheit der heutigen jüdischen Rasse ziehen. Auch in der Geschichte finden wir keine Anhaltspunkte für eine stattgehabte Vermischung blutsfremder Elemente mit Juden; wenigstens nicht in so großem Maße, daß sie auf die Gestaltung eines Volkes von 7–10 Millionen einen Einfluß hätte haben können. Stets waren die Juden isoliert durch ihren sie abschliessenden Glauben, durch die Macht der überlieferten Gefühle, — später auch durch das gemein- same Elend und die Riegel des Ghetto. Und alle die zeit- weisen Anschlüsse an das Judentum (Chazaren usw.) sind denselben bald wieder verloren gegangen. Die Tatsache, dass das Prozentverhältnis der Kohanim und Leviten zu der übngen Menge des Judenvolkes heute dasselbe ist, wie vor 2000 Jahren, beweist schon zur Genüge, dass grössere An- schlüsse rassefremder Elemente an das Judentum nicht er- folgt sein können, weil sich sonst diese Prozentverhältnisse hätten verschieben müssen. Aus all dem Gesagten schliessen wir auf die Einheit- lichkeit der jüdischen Rasse sowie auf die Rasse- identität der heutigen Juden mit denen des Altertums, also auf ihre Rassenreinheit!
