The Kol Nidre Prayer.
To be released from their vows and oaths, the Jews recite the following prayer annually on the Day of Atonement in the synagogue:
"All vows, and obligations, and conspiracies, and oaths, which we shall vow, swear, and promise from this Day of Atonement until the next, we repent of them all and they shall be dissolved, remitted, cancelled, nullified, powerless, and invalid; our vows shall be no vows and our oaths shall be no oaths." (Shulchan Aruch I. § 619.)
Moses says: You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, and: whoever commits adultery with his neighbor's wife is guilty of death. Punishable for the Jew is therefore only adultery with his neighbor's, i.e., the Jew's wife; the wife of the non-Jew is excluded. (Tr. Sanh. f. 52, 2.)

Zur Entbindung von ihren Eiden und Schwüren sprechen die Juden alljährlich am Verſöhnungs-Tage in der Synagoge folgendes Gebet: „Alle Gelübde und Verbindlichkeiten und Verschwörungen und Eide, welche wir von diesem Verſöhnungs-Tage an bis auf den nächsten geloben, schwören und zusagen werden, die reuen uns alle und sollen aufgelöst, erlassen, aufgehoben, vemichtet, unkräftig und ungültig ſein; unsere Gelübde sollen keine Gelübde und unsere Schwüre sollen keine Schwüre ſein.“ (Schulchan aruch I. § 619.) * * * Moses sagt: Du sollst nicht begehren deines Nächsten Weib, und: wer die Ehe bncht mit seines Nächsten Weibe ist des Todes schuldig.
