Rabbi Mosche says: God has commanded us to demand usurious interest from a Goi and only then to lend to him, when he agrees to it, so that we create no benefit for him and render him no help, but rather we want to inflict harm upon him, even if we have a benefit from him. (Seph. mizv. f. 73, 4).
It is permitted to deceive a Goi and to take usury from him, but if you sell something to your neighbor or buy something from his hand, then no one shall deceive his brother. (Tractate Bab. mez. f. 61, 1.)
"It is permitted for the righteous to act deceitfully, just as Jacob had done." (Jalk. Rub. f. 20, 2.)
To exploit a Goi's error is permitted if he makes the mistake by himself (i.e., to his disadvantage). Namely, if the Goi makes a calculation and errs in doing so, the Israelite must say to him, look, I am relying on your calculation, I do not know (if it is so), but I will give you what you demand. (R. Mosche. Seph. mizv. f. 132, 2.)

--- 194 --- Rabbi Mosche ſagt: Gott hat uns befohlen, von einem Goi Wucherzins zu fordem und erst dann ihm zu leihen, wenn er fich dazu versteht, fo daß wir ihm keinen Nußen schaffen und keine Hülfe leisten, ſondem wir wollen ihm Schaden zufügen, auch wenn wir Nußen von ihm haben. Es ist erlaubt, einen Goi zu betrügen und Wucher von ihm zu nehmen, wenn du aber deinem Nächsten etwas verkaufft oder von ſeiner Hand etwas kauffst, fo ſoll keiner ſeinen Bruder betrügen. (Tr.
