gations into the customs, language, character, and physique of that primordial people make it seem ever more certain that in these Scythians we are dealing with the ancestors of the later Goths and Germanic peoples.*) The name "Scythian" itself is the old Germanic word for "shooter," and as archers, those Scythians were above all famous.
Traces are found everywhere that offshoots of those blond northern peoples pushed into the southern continents even in the most ancient of times, settled there among foreign peoples, and through physical and mental superiority formed the ruling caste, the aristocracy. The royal dynasties in the ancient Indian cultural empire were of the Saka tribe. — Buddha, the founder of the Indian religion, is called Sakia-muni, i.e., Saka master or teacher. It is also becoming ever more probable that even the "Chaldeans," the bringers of culture in the old Assyrian and Babylonian cultural empires — just like the original ruling and priestly caste in ancient Egypt, were of Scythian or Saka, thus Aryan — Indo-Germanic descent.
It seems that in the oldest cultural empires the same thing took place that happened just a millennium ago in the Inca Empire of South America.

— 152 — ſuchungen über Sitten, Sprache, Charakter und Körpergestalt jenes Urvolkes laſſen es immer unzweifelhafter erscheinen, daß man es in jenen Skyten mit den Urvorfahren der späteren Gothen und Germanen zu thun hat.*) Der Name „Skyte“ ſelbst ist das altgermanische Wort für „Schütze“, und als Bogenschützen waren jene Skyten vor allen berühmt. Es finden ſich überall Spuren, daß schon in grauster Vorzeit Abzweigungen jener blonden Nordvölker nach den ſüdlichen Welttheilen vorgestoßen ſind, dort unter fremden Völkem ſich niederließen und durch körperliche und geistige Ueberlegenheit die Herrscherkaste, die Anstokratie bildeten. Die Königs-Geschlechter im alten indischen Cultur-Reiche waren vom Stamme der Saki. — Buddha, der Religionsstifter der Inder, wird Sakia-muni d. h. ſakischer Meister oder Lehrer genannt. Es wird auch immer wahrscheinlicher, daß ſelbst die „Chaldäer“, die Culturbnnger im altaſſynschen und babyonischen Cultur-Reiche — ebenſo wie die ursprüngliche Herrscher- und Pnesterkaste im alten Aegypten, ſkythischer oder ſakischer, alſo anscher — indogermanischer Abkunst waren. Es scheint ſich in den ältesten Cultur-Reichen daſſelbe vollzogen zu haben, was noch vor einem Jahrtauſend in dem Inka-Reiche Südamenka’s ſich *) Vergl.
