...netic development of the infusoria, or the grouping of organs in a living organism, which is only a more complicated one than the equally living cosmic one.
In the same way, the human, social domain stands infinitely higher than the organic, yet it is just as little absolutely distinguished from it, as it is from the cosmic. Here too, at the boundary that leads from the organic to the social sphere of life, the natural-grown, organic race appears as the spiritless, in contrast to the higher human life. Nevertheless, the race remains the root of the social sphere of life, just as the celestial body is that of the organic.
Social life is first of all a product of specific human races, originally of different tribes, which shape their life institutions in a typical fashion. — In the course of historical development, the typical contrasts of the original life institutions and their corresponding primitive worldviews come into conflict with one another. Only from their collision do the spiritual sparks arise, which become the seeds of light for higher, more harmonious forms of life.

In gleicher Weiſe steht das humane, ſoziale Gebiet unendlich höher, als das organische, ist aber ſo wenig von ihm, wie es ſelbst vom koſmischen, abſolut unterschieden. Auch hier tntt an der Grenze, welche die organische zur ſozialen Lebenssphäre hinüberführt, die naturwüchſige, organische Race als das Geistloſe, gegenüber dem höhem humanen Leben, in die Erscheinung. Trotzdem bleibt die Race ebenſo die Wurzel der ſozialen Lebenssphäre, wie der Weltkörper jene der organischen. Das ſoziale Leben ist zu nächst ein Produkt bestimmeter Menschenracen, ursprünglich verschiedener Volksstämme, welche ihre Lebenſeinnchtungen typisch gestalten. — Im Verlaufe der geschichtlichen Entwicklung gerathen die typischen Gegenſätze der ursprünglichen Lebenſeinnchtungen und der ihnen entsprechenden pnmitiven Lebensanschauungen mit einander in Conflikt. Erst aus ihrem Zuſammenstoß entspnngen die Geistesfunken, welche die Lichtkeime zu höhem, harmonischen Lebensgestaltungen werden. Die Einheit des Menschengeschlechts ist eine durch dieſe geschichtliche Arbeit ſich entwickelnde, keine ursprünglich von der Natur gegebene; ſie ist kein unmittelbares Produkt des organischen Lebens, ſondem das
