leads in our ecclesiastical-state affairs, that is something else entirely! “Vae Victis!” Jewry already calls out to us within our ecclesiastical-state differences. I and several of my friends tried at the beginning of the Kulturkampf to participate in it from a higher, cultural-historical standpoint. In vain. We were only allowed to speak if we spoke without premise, if we wanted to rant ex abrupto against "clericals." Not even under the heading "Letters to the Editor" did the Jewish press grant us hospitality, where they could have had us refuted. And so Jewry has monopolized the free expression of opinion in the daily press. It is very cheap to cloak our own impotence with a phrase-rich Jew-hatred. We Germans, with the year 1848, carried out our official abdication in favor of Jewry. Ask yourselves: in all branches of life, the path to the goal goes through Jewish mediation. A "struggle for existence" is no longer possible at all without Jewry drawing its commission from it. Let each of my readers ask himself, am I exaggerating? That is the result of the thirty-year war that Jewry has officially waged with us since 1848, and which no longer even leaves the hope of a rotten "Peace of Westphalia."

— 29 — unſem kirchlich-staatlichen Angelegenheiten führt, das ist ganz etwas Anderes! **«Vae Victis!»** ruft uns das Judenthum innerhalb **unſerer** kirchlich-staatlichen Differenzen bereits zu. Ich und mehrere meiner Freunde haben es beim Beginn des Kulturkampfes verſucht, uns an demſelben von einem höhem, kulturgeschichtlichen Standpunkte aus zu bethei- ligen. Umſoust. Wir durften nur reden, wenn wir ohne Prämiſſe redeten, wenn wir ex abrupto gegen «Klen- kale» schimpfen wollten. Nicht einmal unter der Rubnk «Eingesandt» gab uns die jüdische Preſſe Hospitalität, wo ſie uns doch hätte bekämpfen laſſen können. Und ſo hat das Judenthum die freie Meinungsäußerung in der Tages- preſſe — monopoliſirt. Es ist ſehr wohlfeil, unſere eigene Impotenz mit einem phraſenreichen Judenhass zu bemänteln. Wir Deut- schen haben mit dem Jahre 1848 unſere officielle Ab- dankung zu Gunsten des Judenthums vollzogen. Fragt Euch ſelbst: in allen Branchen des Lebens geht der Weg zum Ziel durch die **jüdische Vermittlung**. Es ist überhaupt kein «Kampf um's Daſein» mehr möglich, ohne daß das Judenthum ſeine Proviſion davon zieht. Frage ſich jeder einzelne meiner Leſer, ob ich übertreibe? Das ist das Reſultat des dreiſſigjähngen Kneges, den das Judenthum ſeit 1848 officiell mit uns geführt hat, und der nicht einmal mehr die Hoffnung auf einen faulen «westphälischen Fneden» übng läßt.
