important in the entire matter of the state's life in the land. The meaning of this is: instead of a few Jewish policemen, as is the case now, there will then be many Jewish policemen; the immigration officials in Jaffa and Haifa will also be, for the most part, Jews. Even the border guard on the Jordan shore, by Metula and El-Arish, and all of these will want to participate in the expulsion of the 'superfluous' Jews and in the hunt for Jews who managed to sneak in. Today we have one Hyamson — but then every Jew in the land will know that his son, his father, his son-in-law, his brother is a Hyamson. Thus a very refined foundation for a national culture will truly be created, for that spirit which will be created by Jews of this kind, so that the light of Judaism may be spread among the nations.

And they ask: To what end are you telling all these things? Against whom are they directed? Is there anyone who wants a small Zionism of this kind, other than that schemer of planners around the 'University,' which does not exist? — You are mistaken, gentlemen! All these people want this Zionism and this one specifically, those who are already prepared now to say 'Zionism', if they are given a few hundred 'participations': those who are prepared at this price to stop the war against that Hebron-government and that Hebron-regime which they magnified and which the honorable Sir Samuel first instituted in the Land of Israel. Because in general, there is no such thing as "small Zionism". There is only the aspiration to establish a Hebrew state, and therefore the greatest of all is for a Hebrew state, its purpose is simply to secure the matter, or else — the Land of Israel will be transformed into a land of savage antisemitism from without and a land of Jewish traitors from within.

7. "Mizrachi Zionism" and "Nationalist Zionism."

There exist two conceptions of Zionism; the first, if one may express it so, is more 'national', and the second — more humanitarian. Since I advocate for the second conception, I do not presume at all, and as if without bias, regarding the formulation of the first conception.

According to the first conception, the role of Zionism is to create something in the Land of Israel
