Introduction
"You love righteousness and hate wickedness!" Psalm 45:8.
Love for one's neighbor is a high commandment, but a higher one is the love for God; "You shall love your neighbor as yourself, but God above all else!"
God is the eternally Good, and he who truly loves the Good must hate the Evil. — Life is a struggle between Good and Evil; and he who does not take part in this struggle does not belong to true life.
I will show neighborly love to him who is good; but the evil one is not my neighbor, but my most distant and my enemy. My neighbor is he who is closest to me in blood and spiritual nature; and the commandment to love all men can only mean: all honest men.

Einführung. „Du liebst die Gerechtigkeit und haſſest den Frevel!“ Pſalm 45, 8. * * * Nächsten-Liebe ist ein hohes Gebot, aber ein höheres ist die Liebe zu Gott; „Du ſollst Deinen Nächsten lieben wie Dich ſelbst, aber Gott über Alles!“ * * * Gott ist das ewig Gute, und wer das Gute wahrhaft liebt, muß das Böſe haſſen. — Ein Kampf zwischen Gut und Böſe ist das Leben; und wer an dieſem Kampfe nicht theilnimmt, der gehört dem wahren Leben nicht an. * * * Nächsten-Liebe will ich halten dem, der gut ist; aber der Böſe ist nicht mein Nächster, ſondem mein Femster und mein Feind. Mein Nächster ist, wer mir nach Geblüt und Geistes-Art am nächsten steht; und das Gebot, alle Menschen zu lieben, kann nur bedeuten: alle redlichen Menschen. * * *
