Deut.
If you do not keep the commandments . . . the Lord will strike you before your enemies. You will invade them by one way and you will flee before them by seven, and you will be scattered among all the kingdoms on earth. Deut. 28, 25.

And you will be an abomination, a proverb, and a mockery among all peoples. Deut. 28, 37.
Deut.
Furthermore, you will have no permanent being among the peoples, and the soles of your shoes will find no rest. And Yahweh will give you there an anxious heart, fearful eyes, and a withered soul. — And Yahweh will lead you back to Egypt in full ships . . . and you will be sold to your enemies as male and female servants, — yet no buyer will be found. Deut. 28, 65 & 68.

Listen to this, you who oppress the poor and exploit the miserable in the land, and say: When will the Sabbath have an end, so that we can again haggle with grain and can reduce the measure and increase the shekel and falsify the scales, so that we may take from the poor their money and from the needy their last pair of shoes, and sell them chaff for grain. — 381 — **Verfluchung und Missethaten.** Wenn du die Gebote nicht hältst . . . wird dich der Herr vor deinen Feinden schlagen. Durch einen Weg wirst du bei ihnen eindnngen und durch sieben wirst du vor ihnen fliehen und wirst zerstreuet werden unter alle Reiche auf Erden. 5. Mos. 28, 25. Und du wirst eine Abscheu, ein Spnchwort und ein Spott sein unter allen Völkem. 5. Mos. 28, 37. Dazu wirst du unter den Völkem kein bleibendes Wesen haben und deine Schuhsohlen werden keine Ruhe finden. Und Jahwe wird dir dort ein banges Herze geben, scheue Augen und eine verdorrete Seele. — Und Jahwe wird dich in vollen Schiffen wieder nach Egypten führen . . . und ihr werdet euren Feinden als Knechte und Mägte verkauft werden, — doch wird sich kein Käufer finden. 5. Mos. 28, 65 u. 68. Ich brachte euch in ein gutes Land, daß ihr genössest seine Früchte und seine Güter. Und da ihr hinein kamet, verunreiniget ihr mein Land und machtet mir mein Erbe zum Greuel. Jerem. 2, 7. Ihr fresset das Fette und kleidet euch mit der Wolle und schlachtet das Gemästete, aber die Schafe wollt ihr nicht hüten. Hefekiel 34, 3. Sie achten keines Rechtes und sammeln Schätze von Frevel und Raub in ihren Palästen. Amos 3, 10. Höret dies, die ihr die Armen unterdrücket und die Elenden im Lande ausbeutet und dabei sprechet: Wann wird der Sabbath ein Ende haben, daß wir wieder können schachem mit Kom und können das Maß vernngem und den Seckel steigem und die Waage fälschen, auf daß wir die Armen um ihr Geld und die Dürftigen um ihr letztes Paar Schuhe bnngen und ihnen Spreu für Kom verkaufen. Amos 8, 4—6.
