Also in the year 1887 they were (in the convicted cases!) 3 times more heavily involved in bribery and food adulteration, 4 times in extortion, 9 times in offenses against the Trade Regulation Act, 18 times in fraudulent bankruptcy, and 21 times in simple bankruptcy than the German population.
These figures are thoroughly reliable and conscientiously compiled. Other compilations, such as those that appear here and there in pro-Jewish pamphlets and recently also in the so-called "Antisemiten-Spiegel," are based on distortions and falsifications. One may compare the above figures by taking an official statistical record in hand!
To justify the Jews for their outrageous participation in dissolute and fraudulent bankruptcy, it is occasionally stated that this circumstance is explained by the predominant participation of Jews in commerce. According to a statistic from the Kingdom of Saxony from the year 1885, of the gainfully employed Germans, only 5 percent were in commerce, but of the Jews, over 50 percent were. Thus, even if the Jews engage in commerce 10 times more often than the Germans, they still would not need to go bankrupt 20 times more often!

Auch im Jahre 1887 waren sie (in den überführten Fällen!) an Bestechung und Nahrungsmittel-Fälschung 3mal stärker, an Erpressung 4mal, an Vergehen gegen die Gewerbeordnung 9mal, an betrügenschem Bankrott 18mal und an einfachem Bankrott 21mal stärker betheiligt als die deutsche Bevölkerung. Diese Zahlen sind durchaus zuverlässig und gewissenhaft zusammengestellt. Andre Aufstellungen, wie sie hie und da in judensinnigen Blättem und neuerdings auch in dem sogen. „Antisemiten-Spiegel“ auftauchen, beruhen auf Verdrehungen und Fälschungen. Man mag obige Zahlen vergleichen, indem man eine amtliche Statistik zur Hand nimmt! Zur Rechtfertigung der Juden wegen ihrer ungeheuerlichen Betheiligung am lüderlichen und betrügenschen Bankrott wird gelegentlich angeführt, daß sich dieser Umstand aus der vorwiegenden Betheiligung der Juden am Handel erkläre. Nach einer Statistik des Königreichs Sachsen vom Jahre 1885 kamen daselbst von den deutschen Erwerbsthätigen allerdings nur 5 pCt., von den Juden aber über 50 pCt. auf den Handel. Wenn sonach die Juden auch 10 mal öfter Handel treiben als die Deutschen, so brauchten sie doch noch nicht 20 mal öfter Bankrott zu machen!
