They are represented in the same proportion in the middle schools and higher educational institutions. Here too they exceed the average by 6 to 8 times. In contrast, they provide proportionally only half as many pupils to the elementary schools as the Germans do.
This state of affairs must naturally have the most fateful consequences. The Jews will move into the educated classes in ever stronger proportion and form the actual bourgeoisie, while the native German population is increasingly pushed down into helotry, into the proletariat. — But that is not the only harm!

Chnsten . 8836 782 355 36 Juden . 5271 2440 2129 160 überh.(Durchsch.) 9311 387 280 22 Also auch diese Statistik bestätigt, daß im preußischen Staate die Juden sich die Vortheile der höheren Schulbildung in ungleich größerem Maße zu Nuße machen, als die Eingeborenen. — Während die evangelische Jugend von 10 000 Köpfen 25, die katholische nur 13 Universitäts-Besucher stellt, genießen von 10 000 jungen Juden 160 den UniversitätsUnterncht; sie übertreffen also hier den Durchschnitt um das Achtfache. In gleichem Verhältniß sind sie an den Mittelschulen und höheren Lehr-Anstalten betheiligt. Auch hier übertreffen sie den Durchschnitt um das 6 bis 8 fache. Hingegen stellen sie zu den Volksschulen im Verhältniß nur halb soviel Schüler als die Deutschen. Dieser Zustand muß natürlich die verhängnißvollsten Folgen haben. Die Juden werden in immer stärkerem Verhältniß in die gebildeten Klassen einrücken und die eigentliche Bourgeoisie bilden, während die eingeborene deutsche Bevölkerung immer mehr zum Helotenthum, zum Proletanat herabgedrückt wird. — Das ist aber nicht der einzige Schaden!
