In contrast, the Russian government organ "Grazhdanin" in the year 1890 estimated these numbers as follows: At present, about 7,789,000 sons of Israel live on the entire globe. Of these, 6,989,000 have chosen Europe for their residence, in America live circa 500,000, in Asia 200,000, in Africa 100,000 of them; only in Australia is their number completely negligible. They are distributed among the European states as follows: In Russia 4,621,000, in Austria- Hungary 1,470,000, in Germany 572,000, in Turkey 100,000, in the Netherlands 70,000, in England 60,000; the remaining Jews are distributed among the various other states of Europe.
Palestine, the actual hearth of the sons of Israel, is currently inhabited by only 25,000 Jews. —
If one adds other estimates and takes the probable average, the following figures should be the most accurate: Total number 7,500,000.

Dem gegenüber schätzt das ruſſische Regierungs- Organ „Graschdanin“ im Jahre 1890 dieſe Zahlen wie folgt ab: Auf dem ganzen Erdballe leben augenblicklich gegen 7,789,000 Söhne Israels. Von denſelben haben 6,989,000 zum Aufenthalte Europa erwählt, in Amenka leben circa 500,000, in Aſien 200,000, in Afnka 100,000 von ihnen; nur in Australien ist ihre Anzahl eine vollständig verschwindende. Auf die europäischen Staaten vertheilen ſich dieſelben folgender- maßen: In Rußland 4,621,000, in Oesterreich- Ungam 1,470,000, in Deutschland 572,000, in der Türkei 100,000, in den Niederlanden 70,000, in England 60,000; die übngen Juden vertheilen ſich auf die verschiedenen anderen Staaten Europas. Palästina, den eigentlichen Herd der Söhne Israels, bewohnen gegenwärtig nur noch 25,000 Juden. — Nimmt man noch andere Schätzungen hinzu und zieht das wahrscheinliche Mittel, ſo dürften folgende Zahlen die zutreffendsten ſein: GeſammtZahl 7,500,000.
