In Spain, it comes into consideration that around 1500 A.D., all Jews who did not let themselves be baptized were threatened with expulsion, which is why the number of Jewish pseudo-Christians there is extraordinarily large. (Many of these baptized Spanish Jews later emigrated to France, England, and Holland.)

The Bulletin of the Geographical Society in Marseille for the month of June 1885 gave the following figures for the Jewish population of the Earth: In total there exist 6,377,600 Jews, namely 5,407,600 in Europe, 245,000 in Asia, 413,000 in Africa, 300,000 in America, 12,000 in Oceania.
