Actions Committee.

VIENNA, September 29, 1899.

The Actions Committee, assembled at Basle, has resolved, in accordance with a resolution laid before the Third Congress, upon the publication of these Communications. Their purpose is, on the one hand, to render the connexion of the several Country Committees with one another more intimate, and on the other, by the inclusion of the reports of the organisations, societies and groups upon the Zionist work performed in the several periods, to give exact information. Accordingly there shall be published here motions of the members of the Actions Committee and suggestions of our fellow-adherents, in so far as the Vienna Actions Committee deems such publication expedient, in order to introduce and to facilitate a general discussion. Announcements of the founding of new societies, as well as the notices of existing societies concerning meetings, resolutions, decisions and new elections held, shall likewise find room here. It will be the business of the several Country Committees, but also of every single society, to report such facts to the Secretariat, and above all to make known in good time the convocation of meetings, so as to permit the publication of a repertory of forthcoming Zionist actions. Donation Books.

In the sense of the motions of the Organisation Commission of the Third Congress (The shekel may be collected only from persons who declare their agreement with the Basle Programme. From persons who sympathise with the Zionist movement without acknowledging the Basle Programme, donations only may be received.) and of para. 1 of Art. 3 of the Statute adopted by the Third Congress (The Zionist Organisation comprises those Jews who declare their agreement with the programme of the Zionist Congress and are payers of the shekel), the Actions Committee has now issued, upon the model of the shekel books, donation blocks also (with a yellow cover).
