The general developmental history of social life and its results, today's nationalist aspirations, will then be taken into consideration, in order to illuminate the by no means concluded historical task of Judaism, to indicate how the current world situation might promote the founding of Jewish colonies on the Suez Canal and on the banks of the Jordan in a not too distant future, and finally to highlight the still little-noticed circumstance that behind the questions of nationality and freedom that move the world today, there lies hidden a still far deeper race question, one that cannot be eliminated by any general philanthropic platitudes, and which, as old as history itself, must first be solved before further work can be done on a definitive solution to the political-social problems.

# XII eine orthodoxe Eiſkruste Alles zu erstarren, ein revolutionärer Samum Alles zu verbrennen und zu verflüchtigen drohte. * * * Die allgemeine Entwicklungsgeschichte des ſozialen Lebens und ihre Reſultate, die heutigen Nationalitätsbestrebungen, werden ſodann in Betracht gezogen, um die noch keineswegs beendigte geschichtliche Aufgabe des Judenthums zu beleuchten, um anzudeuten, wie die gegenwärtige Weltlage der Gründung von jüdischen Colonïeen am Canal von Suez und an den Ufem des Jordans in einer nicht mehr femen Zeit Vorschub leisten dürfte, um endlich den noch wenig beachteten Umstand hervorzuheben, daß hinter den Nationalitäts- und Freiheitsfragen, welche heute die Welt bewegen, ſich eine noch weit tiefere, durch keine allgemein philanthropische Redensarten zu beſeitigende Racenfrage birgt, die, ſo alt wie die Geschichte, erst gelöst ſein muß, bevor an eine definitive Löſung der politisch-ſozialen Probleme weiter gearbeitet werden kann.
