Preface. Among the best and most important works on the state of modern racial research and especially on the ever-topical Jewish racial question is the work published last year by Dr. Zollschan: “The Racial Problem”. In the interest of enlightenment and orientation on this topic, which cuts into our most important life questions, it would be highly desirable for Zollschan's work to find the widest possible distribution. However, in our busy times, it is not for everyone to study through a highly scientifically written book of more than 500 pages. That is why we are convinced that all those to whom we here reproduce in excerpt the lines of thought and the argumentation of Zollschan will be grateful to us.
Should we thereby inspire one or another reader to study the work in the original, such an effect of the present publication would be all the more gratifying.
Many serious researchers are occupied with the racial question. But the results of their work, laid down in scholarly journals and books, hardly become known to their professional peers. The great mass of educated and uneducated laypeople knows nothing of it and holds on to antediluvian opinions that still haunt the textbooks of our 1

Vorwort. Zu den besten und wichtigsten Werken über den Stand der modemen Raſſenforschung und insbeſondere über die stets aktuelle jüdische Raſſenfrage gehört das im Vorjahre erschienene Werk von Dr. Zollschan: „Das Raſſenproblem“. Im Intereſſe der Aufklärung und Onentierung über dieſes, in unſere wichtigsten Lebensfragen einschneidende Thema wäre es wohl wünschenswert, daß das Werk Zoll- schans überallhin die weiteste Verbreitung fände. Nun ist es aber in unſerer vielbeschäftigten Zeit nicht jedermanns Sache, ein hochwiſſenschaftlich geschnebenes Buch von mehr als 500 Seiten durchzustudieren. Darum ſind wir der Ueberzeugung, daß uns alle Dank wiſſen werden, denen wir hier im Auszug die Gedankengänge und die Beweisfüh- rung Zollschans wiedergeben. Sollten wir damit den einen oder anderen Leſer anregen, das Werk im Onginal zu studieren, ſo wäre eine ſolche Wir- kung der vorliegenden Schnft eine um ſo erfreulichere. * * * Viele emste Forscher beschäftigt die Raſſenfrage. Aber die Ergebniſſe ihrer Arbeit, niedergelegt in gelehrten Zeit- schnften und Büchem, werden kaum den Fachgenoſſen bekannt. Die große Menge der gebildeten und ungebildeten Laien weiß nichts davon und hält an vorſintflutlichen Mei- nungen fest, die noch immer in den Lehrbüchem unſerer 1
