cided finally to expel the entire tribe along with its followers.
Before it came to that, however, the Jews instigated an uprising and fled Egypt in the company of criminals and other riffraff, after they had first robbed the Egyptians of their gold and silver articles.
In the 2nd book of Moses, Chap. 3, verses 21 and 22, it says:
“.......... When you go, you shall not go empty-handed; — but every woman shall ask of her neighbors and housemates for silver and golden vessels and clothes. You shall put these on your sons and daughters and steal them from the Egyptians.”
And in the 12th Chap., verse 35 etc., it then says:
“And the children of Israel had done as Moses had said and demanded of the Egyptians articles of silver and gold and clothing. And they had found favor with the Egyptians, so that they lent them all that; — and they plundered it from the Egyptians!” — “And a mixed multitude also went with them, and flocks and herds, a very great deal of livestock.”

Ehe es dazu kam, zettelten die Juden aber einen Aufstand an und entflohen in Gesellschaft der Verbrecher und anderen Gesindels aus Aegypten, nachdem sie zuvor noch die Aegypter ihrer Gold- und Silbersachen beraubt hatten. Im 2. Buch Mosis, Cap. 3, Vers 21 und 22 heißt es: „. . . . . . Wenn ihr ausziehet, sollt ihr nicht leer ausziehen; — sondem ein jegliches Weib sollt von ihren Nachbannnen und Hausgenossen fordem silbeme und goldene Gefäße und Kleider. Die sollt ihr auf eure Söhne und Töchter legen und den Aegyptem entwenden.“ Und im 12. Cap., Vers 35 u. s. w. heißt es dann: „Und die Kinder Israel hatten gethan wie Moses gesagt hatte und von den Aegyptem gefordert silbeme und goldene Geräthe und Kleider. Und sie hatten Vertrauen gefunden bei den Aegyptem, daß sie alles das ihnen leiheten; — und sie entwandten es den Aegyptem!“ — „Und sie hießen auch mit gehen viel Böbelvolk und Schafe und Rinder und schier viel Vieh.“ Schon zuvor hatten einige Juden-Mischlinge, die in ägyptischen Pnesterschulen eine bessere Bildung genossen, eine Organisation ihres Volkes versucht und
